Classifying multiple band structures is similar to that of single arcs. The features to look for are:
- More than one auroral arc present in the camera's field-of-view
- Arcs can be straight and well defined or curve with diffuse borders
- Arcs can have a variety of orientations, east to west, north to south, or a mix of angles
- Arcs can be green, red, blue, or any mix of the colours
